How to choose the drive system for the melt pump?

The driving torque of plastic extruder melt pump is related to the material characteristics, the displacement of the melt pump, and the high speed of the melt pump. For a certain material, its torque is directly proportional to its conveying capacity (melt pump displacement x melt pump speed). As long as the output torque of the gearbox meets the torque required for the melt pump under its large output, it can meet the requirements for the use of the melt gear pump. By increasing the speed ratio of the existing gearbox, the output torque of the gearbox can be improved.

When determining the driving system of the melt pump for extrusion, physical characteristics such as melt viscosity and fluidity should be considered. Materials with high melt viscosity and poor fluidity require a higher torque, and the upper limit of the melt pump speed cannot be selected; Melts with low viscosity and high fluidity require less torque. The design of the drive system for variable frequency motors and frequency converters should try to avoid the frequency converter working at low frequencies and prevent the problem of insufficient driving torque in the drive system caused by the frequency converter working at low frequencies.
