The melt pump will come from the extruder to pressurize and stabilize the high-temperature melt adhesive, and then deliver it to the extruder head with a stable flow rate. Its ability to stabilize melt pressure and flow rate is better than various models of extruders. In the extrusion system, the melt pump mainly plays three roles: 1. 1、 Pressure increases, pressure stabilizes
When the melt pump is working, when there is resistance between the material at the outlet of the melt pump and the molding mold, the gears inside the melt pump will act like pistons in the cylinder barrel, squeezing the melt in the discharge area to achieve the pressure boosting function of the melt pump. Solved the problem that the pressure generated by the extruder during the production process cannot meet the actual needs of the production process. 2、 Control pressure fluctuations
Due to the influence of the screw motion mechanism inside the extruder, the pressure in the melt at the head of the extruder usually exhibits pulse like fluctuations. 3、 Reduce energy consumption and improve production efficiency
Melt pumps are usually able to assist in the production of pressure. In this way, the extruder can be fully focused on feeding, melting, mixing and other tasks. When there is no melt pump, a large amount of pressure will be generated at the head of the extruder. After installing the melt pump, the maximum pressure is located behind the pump instead of before, thereby reducing the pressure inside the extruder. Practice has shown that the shear strength of the corresponding melt decreases, the temperature curve flattens, and the temperature rise decreases. Considering the torque of the extruder, this will reduce energy consumption.
