Metering feeding, melt pump, vacuum shaping and cooling, online measurement, and traction cutting are all crucial steps in precision extrusion, which directly affect the quality and output of the products. Some manufacturers are reluctant to install a melt pump, believing that it has little impact on quality.

However, practical experience has shown that for high-precision extrusion production, a melt pump must be installed, and a high-precision melt pump should be used. Although the extruder screw can perform functions similar to a melt pump, such as mixing, extrusion, and pumping, a high-precision melt pump can improve the stability of melt pressure, increase the pressure at the die head, boost the output of the extruder, and ensure the quality of the catheter. This allows the extruder screw to focus on mixing and melting.
